Starting university is an incredibly exciting time in a young adult's life, but it can also come with many challenges. Queen Mary Students' Union recognises the various difficulties first year students may face and have created a peer to peer support scheme to help alleviate many of the concerns first years may have.

The Union Buddy Scheme matches trained Queen Mary students (mentors) with incoming first year students (mentees) in a group. Through our mentor / mentee application forms we are able to pair students based on their preferences to ensure that each student gets the most out of the scheme. Queen Mary Students’ Union believes that a sense of community should be at the heart of any university experience and the Buddy Scheme is at the centre of this from the beginning of your student journey.

Peer Mentoring is a voluntary scheme that will help you to settle into university life, socialise, meet new people and have some fun!
